system monitor用途

请问system monitor在SQL Server中的用途？
我找的资料显示system monitor allows you to capture statistic information about the hardware environment, operating system, and any applications that expose properties and counters.
但在企业环境的sql server中system monitor具体有什么用途呢？

可以用这个来查看sql server 的性能计数器。
